To achieve our vision, we are searching for a responsible and reliable School Bus Aide. As a School Bus Aide at Zeta, you will be responsible for managing the behavior of students on the school bus at Zeta Charter Schools. The Bus Aide will have a strong work ethic, be extremely dependable, and be able to manage student behavior in a loving but serious way. You will work with a team of mission-driven, high-achieving, passionate colleagues to help Zeta succeed in its mission to build and sustain high-performing schools that forge thriving communities of lifelong learners, problem solvers, and innovators.
Responsibilities
- Take attendance of all students entering the school bus
- Ensure all students and adults on the bus are wearing appropriate PPE
- Manage student behavior on the bus, ensuring students are in their seat at all times, with seat belts on and maintaining appropriate physical distance
- Communicate any issues that occur on the bus to Zeta staff immediately
- Support in safely transitioning students off the bus and to the school building

- Strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills (with students and adults) are essential
- Someone with an unyielding dedication to cleanliness and hygiene

We are seeking candidates who can start immediately for our Inwood and Bronx locations with hours from 7:00am-8:00am, Monday through Friday, 3:45pm-4:45pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and 12:15pm-1:15pm on Wednesdays. This is a part-time role (10 hours total per week) on a 10-month cycle through the end of June 2023. All candidates must complete a background check, and hourly compensation is $18/hour.
Currently, Zeta operates multiple schools, in the South Bronx and Upper Manhattan. We have big growth plans because the educational crisis is massive and requires big solutions.
