Software Engineer - Eat24 Application Backend Developer

Yelp Eat24 is the Internet’s favorite way to order food delivery online from over 40,000 restaurants nationwide. We want to create a brilliant new reality where customers feel like cheeseburgers are being teleported directly to their mouths while kittens massage their feet. That’s where you come in.

We’re in a rapidly evolving and hotly-contested market, but we have a couple secret weapons in our back pocket — the richest source of local data in the world and finely-honed skills from building a best-in-class product. We’re looking for strong developers with experience designing, building, & scaling consumer facing web applications to help us build the perfect food ordering experience.

We’re a small team, so you’ll do a little of everything: rapidly prototyping new features across the front and back end, tuning site performance, kicking around ideas with our design team, streamlining our deployment process, you name it!

We Are Looking For:

  • Mastery of at least one programming language - Python, Objective-C, Java, etc.
  • Strong understanding of at least one popular server side MVC Framework (Django, Twisted, Rails, Pyramid, Yii, Play, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of and interest in elegant API designs.
  • Battle-proven SQL knowledge.
  • Comfortable working in a Unix Environment.
  • A minimum of 1-year of industry experience in a similar role. If you don't have at least a year of experience in a similar role please take a look at our College Engineering roles instead!

  • Familiarity with mobile and web development.
  • Previous experience as a technical lead.
  • Excitement about the challenges of internationalization, scalability, and performance.
  • An unquenchable thirst to keep growing, learning, and to tackle new challenges!

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
