Senior Director/ Head of Consumer Online Marketing

Over 100M million visitors came to Yelp during Q3 to find a great local business.  Yelp has delivered >40% Y/Y revenue growth in its Local Ad business and aspires to continue this successful growth in both users and revenue.
 
Yelp is seeking an experienced, hands-on leader to drive online acquisition and engagement of Yelp users (consumers).  This candidate will be responsible for all online and mobile channels for acquiring users.  This person will leverage channels including SEM, display, social, and more – with an eye toward scalability and financial viability.  The successful candidate will possess both “hands-on” expertise with these channels and the management chops to lead a team to execute against acquisition and engagement goals.  This candidate will also thrive in a very fast-paced environment where quick decision-making based on data is required and contributing to Yelp’s fun, accountable culture is highly valued.    

Responsibilities:

  • Drive significant user (consumer) growth/acquisition via incremental app installs
  • Drive significant user (consumer) engagement growth via incremental product usage
  • Set marketing strategy, define targets by channel, plan and execute campaigns using A/B testing; analyze, iterate and report results.
  • Partner internally with Yelp’s Product team to get necessary product and tracking functionality built to achieve goals
  • Partner with Yelp’s internal Creative team to iterate and improve creative performance
  • Manage and develop team of online marketing professionals

Requirements:

  • 10+ years experience at blue chip and/or top internet/mobile growth companies successfully executing online marketing campaigns and growing customers/users and revenue
  • Prior experience in an analytic field such as management consulting preferred
  • Superior analytic skills to assess performance and quickly course correct
  • Sound technical facility including knowledge of HTML, CSS, Google Analytics, Excel, SQL, and experience designing campaigns for both desktop and mobile
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong people management skills and track record of developing a small team
  • Experience with SEM, display, social, affiliates, etc.
  • MBA or equivalent preferred
