Compensation Analyst

Come grow your career in Compensation! Yelp is looking for a Compensation Analyst to join our Human Resources Compensation Team in San Francisco.

This person will be a thought partner in developing and improving our compensation structure. You should be a positive go getter who is happy to ask questions and has the initiative to find answers.

This is not a role where you’re sitting behind the scenes crunching numbers (although there is a little of that, so you should love data and be an excel wiz). Most of all we want you to help influence clients in a way that makes sense and really sells the Yelp compensation story.

You will:

  • Manage salary survey participation including data audits, validation, benchmarking and recommending additional compensation data sources
  • Own vendor-based applications to analyze salary survey results to create and maintain compensation structures 
  • Partner with our HR Ops and Finance teams to gather information and help tell our story with numbers
  • Be a thought partner to our Compensation Team Members on various on-going projects including but not limited to quarterly compensation cycle and identifying market trends
  • Partner with Compensation Managers to provide compensation support to Leadership, Recruiting and HRBPs for select organizations
  • Assist in developing compensation plans and documents

You should have:

  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in Compensation 
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Solid, experience (and examples of) having owned salary survey participation including data audits, validation, benchmarking and recommending additional compensation data sources.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel (e.g. working knowledge or ability to learn: vlookups, nested functions, pivot tables, charts/graphs, etc.)
  • A passion for analytics and be a problem solver 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team, conduct research, formulate conclusions, and present conclusions or solutions to business issues

Extra Brownie points if you have:

  • Experience in two or more of the following areas: Workday, Tableau, Global Compensation, Executive Compensation, Equity Compensation, Sales Compensation, Consulting
  • A strong background in Human Resources, Compensation, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics or Economic 
  • Working knowledge of Radford (Aon Hewitt) & Mercer
  • Proficiency in VBA programming languages
