Business Marketing Analyst

Yelp is seeking a marketing analyst to help drive informed decisions that support continued revenue growth via marketing to business owners.  In this role, you’ll be supporting Yelp’s Business Marketing team, a growth engine whose charter is to drive profitable and scalable customer acquisition across marketing channels (direct mail, email, paid search, web and mobile ads, and more).  The ideal candidate will have a strong quantitative background, experience working with large data sets, and ability to facilitate data-driven decision making.  The role is full-time and located in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Carefully and accurately extract lists of target audiences from Yelp’s databases
  • Evaluate direct mail and email marketing test campaigns
  • Build and maintain reporting of all business marketing KPIs
  • Learn and leverage other tools as necessary (SFDC, email marketing automation tools, Google Analytics, Tableau) to support analytical and reporting functions
  • Become a subject matter expert on Yelp’s business database and help identify opportunities to grow our potential lead base
  • Identify first rate, actionable, analytically driven insights to improve business performance
  • Exercise sound business judgment, suggest recommendations and influence the direction of the Yelp’s business by effectively working with and communicating results to cross functional groups

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Economics or related quantitative field required
  • 1+ years relevant experience in business strategy, marketing, or analytics
  • Superior hands-on analytic skills including very strong Excel skills and experience with or desire to learn SQL
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to work independently
  • Interest in learning about and testing new customer acquisition strategies
  • Experience with other data and analysis tools/languages a plus (Google Analytics, Tableau, etc.)
