PEDIATRIC UROLOGY APRN/PA

The primary function of the APRN Specialties program is to provide comprehensive care to the assigned speciality patient population, under the supervision of the program Medical Director (PMD) and the Director of Surgical Specialties. This nurse works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team providing consistency to both the programatic goal sand outpatients population. The APRN assists the physicians with clinical work, documentation, paperwork, and ordering tests as well as works in a collaborative fashion with other services. Develop evidence based protocols and standards for all activities in the section of trauma, surgical critical care and surgical emergencies.

- 5.1 Nurse Practitioner will be evaluated annually as to performance within their job description by the program Medical Director
- 6. Quality Improvement
- 6.1 Actively participates in the quality improvement process
MSN. Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Masters Degree Program or graduate from Physician Assistant program and CT PA licensure eligible.
Three (3) to five (5) year experience in specality related field ideal. Previous experience in an advanced practice role preferred. Previous outpateint experience preferrred
Licensed and currently registered in the State of CT. ANA certification and prescriptive authority required
Excellent basic medical knowledge with clinical skills and judgment. Possess analytical skills to evaluate care needs, ability to gather relevant clinical data, perform thorough physical examinations, and possess excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and leadership abilities and exhibit good judgment and tact dealing with parents, families, and allied health professionals. Computer skills preferred
Must have the flexibility to travel to offsite locations
