Nurse Practitioner- Hospitalist Service

Overview

The primary function of the night Nurse Practitioner (NP) is to provide comprehensive care to inpatients in collaboration with Attending physicians. Each NP has a designated supervising/collaborating physician. Duties include, but are not limited to, admissions, cross-coverage and discharges. NPs are also responsible for ordering and analyzing tests, communication with consultants and coordinating care for a panel of patients. Pay is very competitive and benefits are excellent.

Qualifications

Education Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Art degree and graduation from an accredited master’s degree NP program required. Certified as a NP by the ANCC.

Experience: New grads considered, one (1) to two (2) years caring for hospitalized patients preferred.

Special Skills: Excellent clinical, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Licensure: Both hold a valid Connecticut medical license, Connecticut Controlled Substance Registration and Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certification
