ADVANCED NURSE PRACTITIONER or PHYSICICAN ASSISTANT

PRIMAY CARE - OUTPATIENT

Multiple Locations:  Norwich, New London, Old Lyme CT and Westerly, RI

 

Other Location: Waterford, CT - ONCOLOGY - Outpatient

Responsibilities

An advanced practitioner is a licensed, practitioner who is responsible for providing and coordinating primary care to an identified panel of patients including history, assessment, planning, intervention and consultation. The advanced practitioners works collaboratively within the practice support staff, with other APs, and physicians, and utilizes a   in the care of the patient. The AP may diagnose illness and physical conditions and perform or order therapeutic and corrective measures. Assesses the physical and psychosocial status of patients by interview, health history, physical exam and diagnostic tests. Participates in quality and patient satisfaction improvement initiatives. Carries out responsibilities independently, if so certified, or with minimal need for supervision if not so certified.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited Advanced Nursing or Physician Associate program required. Certified as a Physician Associate by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Associates. Both hold a valid Connecticut or Rhode Island (depending on practice location) medical license , Connecticut or Rhode Island Controlled Substance Registration and Federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certification.

 

Previous work experience as an Advanced Practitioner is preferred.
