The firm currently has an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to oversee the operations in our Austin, Texas office and to act as liaison with other departments and management. The Austin office currently has 53 attorneys and staff in multiple practice areas such as Corporate, Litigation, Regulatory & Compliance and Technology Transactions.
The Office Supervisor's responsibilities encompass a wide variety of tasks including management of staff employees, preparing and conducting annual performance reviews, making staff compensation recommendations, and working with Human Resources to address performance and employee relations issues and manage workloads. The Office Supervisor is also responsible for assisting with staff recruiting, conducting new hire orientations, coordinating training, and on-boarding of both attorneys and staff. In addition, this position assists with the summer associate program including planning and facilitating events and provides support to Attorney Recruiting with scheduling and facilitating interviews for lateral, and summer associate recruiting efforts. The Office Supervisor also has oversight of facilities and the Conference Center, which includes processing invoices for local vendors, managing relationships with building management and local vendors, coordinating office moves, and resolving property management and maintenance issues. The position is also involved in oversight of office services working with the outsourced vendor that provides the mailroom, copy services and hospitality support. The Office Supervisor works with a team to plan all office events, manages the events and teambuilding budgets, and chairs the office community service committee. The Supervisor may also provide some support for business development and marketing events.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of management experience in a law firm or professional services organization. Experience in administrative personnel management, facilities, creative problem-solving, and working as a business partner will be critical to success. Candidates must be results-oriented, have excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels within the firm. A bachelor's degree or equivalent is preferred.
