SAP Presales Solution Engineer

The SAP Presales Solution Engineer will work closely with Workiva and SAP Sales teams to align Workiva’s innovative finance and accounting platform to SAP’s solution portfolio for our customers and partners.   They will coordinate SAP Sales, Product and Services throughout the entire deal lifecycle including discovery, solution development, presentation and proposal.

 Using their knowledge of SAP’s solutions for the office of finance, they will play an important role on the Workiva sales teams supporting complex SAP deals targeted at with Key accounts with a focus on driving large deals.

Location: Will consider qualified candidates based near major metropolitan areas in the Western US.

 What you’ll do:

  • SAP Presales Go-to-Market Leadership – contribute to the ongoing development of our SAP playbook and demonstration environment working closely with both our SAP alliance team, and SAP product and delivery teams. Lead the ongoing training to our broader community of pre-sales consultants. Working closely with Product, Marketing and Services they will assist in the development of other assets (e.g., workshop enablers, use cases, competitive comparisons, sales/partner training, whitepapers, webcasts, etc.) and help with evangelizing our product.
  • Hands On – Use your business and application understanding to conceptualize and configure demos that showcase Workiva’s ability to address customer needs
  • Support Sales - Partner with Regional Sales Directors to support the full life cycle of account and opportunity development. Collaborate with all Workiva groups (product managers, engineering, customer success, and other groups) ensuring the successful execution of the account strategy
  • Design Solutions – Using a business process orientation, familiarity with SAP solutions and application expertise you will design approaches and business solutions to meet the customer's goals and objectives.
  • Present and Compel- Develop and deliver compelling presentations of Workiva’s technology platform to customers to provide proof of our technology’s impact and compelling value proposition.
  • Build Business Cases – Work as part of the sales team to build and present business cases and proposals for customers and prospects that articulate a joint SAP/Workiva value and ROI.
  • Ensure Customer Success – Work with Workiva partners, Client Services and Customer Success teams to ensure smooth onboarding of customers and their long term success with our SaaS platform.
  • Drive Innovation – Keep up on Workiva and SAP technology innovations as well as customer requirements to provide a feedback loop on customer and market needs to Workiva Product Management and Development groups.

 What you’ll need:

  • Qualifications
    • Client interfacing skills - Strong ability to demonstrate and persuade using influencing skills and relating to prospective customers in a consultative manner
    • Experience building relationships and becoming viewed as a trusted advisor to customers in achieving their business goals
    • Experience creating and delivering compelling presentations and software demonstrations
    • Understanding of SaaS and/or Cloud based solutions and ecosystems
    • Positive, goal-oriented attitude that focuses on finding solutions and overcoming obstacles
    • Strong sense of customer service and proven ability to meet established timelines
    • Demonstrate integrity, trustworthiness and good judgment
    • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Presales, consulting, implementation or project management experience configuring and demonstrating SAP ERP/Financials Suite of products
  • Understanding of SaaS and/or Cloud based solutions and ecosystems
  • Experience with SAP’s Cloud Platform Integration, the Digital Boardroom
  • Experience with Finance Systems - ERP, analytical reporting and modeling, budgeting and planning, financial close, GL, FP&A, Management Reporting, Financial Accounting and Reporting
  • Understanding of SAP Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Portfolio solutions (BPC, DM, Financial Consolidation etc) as well as SAP ERM modules FI, CO, FICO, EC, TR
  • Current technical knowledge of leading Cloud ecosystems
  • Expertise designing SaaS solutions in for enterprise customers

 

  • Requirements
  • Prior experience with SAP Financials
  • Work with prospective clients, partners, and internal stakeholders around new problem domains
  • Client Interfacing skills – communications, problem solving, and presentation
  • Bachelor's degree - Accounting, Finance, technology or related fields preferred
  • 30-70% travel to meet customers, internal trainings and attend conferences
