Financial Reporting- Professional Services Manager

A unique position combining:
1. Financial / SEC Reporting for our Customers (70%)
2. Management Consulting & Implementation in your area of expertise (30%) -Financial Reporting, Audit, SOx and/or FP&A;

The Workiva Professional Services Manager works externally with Financial Reporting Managers, Directors, and Controllers of public companies and is responsible for customer project management, XBRL data modeling, mapping, tagging and review of customer XBRL projects. For the consulting side of the role, the Professional Services Manager gathers information from customers to better understand their needs and then helps to determine strategies and implement solutions by utilizing the wDesk ecosystem.

What is the software (Wdesk and Wdata):

Wdesk, Workiva's cloud-based platform, synchronizes all the core application needs such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and data collection, into a single dashboard that allows users to interact in real time and link both documents and data together, dramatically enhancing efficiencies within an Organization’s Finance function.
Wdata, a complimentary Wdesk product, centralizes financial and nonfinancial data from diverse sources into a cloud solution. Data is gathered, prepared and enriched before connecting to Wdesk for reporting and analysis. Wdesk and Wdata can be used across Financial Reporting, FP&A, Audit, SOX and Tax.

WhatYou'll Do:

  • Maintain management responsibility for multiple XBRL professional service engagements
  • Review financial statements to gain an understanding of the accounting policies to map, model, and tag clients statements for XBRL
  • Manage issue resolution or assist client as appropriate depending on the type of engagement
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of taxonomies, SEC regulations, US GAAP and IFRS changes
  • Partner with Regional Sales Directors, Consulting team and Customer Success
  • teams to work with customers to determine their challenges and requirements
  • Assist in designing customized solutions to meet customer needs and successfully reinvent their finance processes
  • Lead or assist in customer discovery and white-boarding sessions
  • Assist in creation of custom demo solutions for customers and prospective customers
  • Assist in implementation of designed solutions at customers
  • Provide client training on Wdesk application
  • Work closely with Workiva consulting, sales and customer support teams
WhatYou'll Need:
  • Approx. 3 years’ experience in Big 4 to mid-tier Audit (incl. SOX) or similar
  • CA newly qualified
  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP, IFRS and Financial Reporting
  • Proven problem-solving skills and business acumen
  • Determined, roll up your sleeves attitude
  • Excellent clientfacing presentation
  • Proven project and time management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, successfully multi-tasking and determining priorities to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing to travel, up to 25%
