This Manager will work exclusively with Withum’s Not-for-Profit Industry Group. Clients that we service are located primarily in the DC or San Francisco market. You’ll be working with a team of renowned experts and thought leaders in the industry who are passionate about what they do! The ideal candidate will possess excellent Excel and tax return preparation skills with the ability and desire to grow into the engagement senior manager position and work in the not-for-profit and education services group.

How You’ll Spend Your Time: 

  • Reviewing annual nonprofit information returns and unrelated business income tax returns for a large and diverse Not-For-Profit practice including public charities and private foundations, social welfare organizations, trade associations and social clubs 
  • Reviewing relevant state income tax returns and annual state charitable registration forms 
  • Researching and resolving tax-exempt organization tax issues 
  • Reviewing of Employee Benefit Plan, C Corp., S Corp., Partnership income, fiduciary tax returns and individual returns as time permits 
  • Identifying and implementing tax planning opportunities   
  • Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines  
  • Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly  
  • Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader 

 The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following: 

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required
  • CPA, JD, LLM, or a Masters of Science in Taxation required
  • At least 5 years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff  
  • Excellent analytical and technical tax skills  
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships  
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment  
  • Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management  
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, and strong attention to detail 

The compensation for this position will vary by location. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications. San Francisco ranges are from $135,000 - $170,000.
Washington, D.C. ranges are from $105,000 - $170,000.
