About the Opportunity  

The successful candidate will be part of the skilled, collaborative, and supportive Education Services team.  Their key responsibilities include assessing training needs, creating training materials, and teaching classes.  Technical instructors need to have excellent presentation and communication skills, along with a calm and patient demeanor.  They will need to be able to help students with hands-on activities on Wind River’s cloud products.  Class deliveries also may include student evaluations. 

A qualified candidate is expected to be hands-on with Wind River’s cloud products, developing education content that covers product features and uses cases for instructor-led training and/or self-paced eLearning. They will be knowledgeable in cloud technologies and networking. 

Responsibilities & Accountabilities 

  • Present technical concepts and specific solutions to internal and external audiences of varying technical capabilities in a clear, concise, and easily understood manner. 
  • Teach in virtual environments and face-to-face environments. Occasionally travel to teach in person. 
  • Ensure student interactivity during class using: chat, Q&A, polls, practical hands-on exercises, and whiteboarding.  
  • Build lecture and hands-on course materials by engaging with, and developing relationships with subject matter experts and becoming intimately familiar with Wind River cloud products.
  • Develop student assessments that will verify competency.
  • Understand customer needs by leveraging student and instructor feedback, and adjusting content deliverables to address them.

Experience/ Competencies 

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills including the ability to present advanced technical concepts.
  • 5+ years of experience as an instructor
  • 5+ years of experience working with cloud and container products, preferably Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Strongly familiar with Linux environments.
  • The ability to work on a team & independently to develop training material.
  • Experience in content development tools such as PowerPoint, Articulate Rise, XML-based authoring tools, Camtasia, and others.
  • Experience designing assessments.

Compensation: 

The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $124,900-$168,580 plus bonus for Colorado residents, $124,900-$168,580 plus bonus for New York and New Jersey residents, and $139,300-$188,020 plus bonus for California and Washington residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, location and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, 12 paid holidays.
