Merchant Service Sales Territory Manager

General Purpose:

This role will focus on building a discount network (gas & fuel) across North America with our Existing WEX Merchants. Successful candidates will work on a base plus commission compensation plan with incentive placed on growing our discounts.

  • Initiate Cold Calls designed to acquire discounts for fuel and gas transactions
  • Follow up on sales leads and potential new merchants that would like to participate in the Edge Fuel Discount program
  • Manage information and data management on a Pipeline report and Sales Force for sales analysis on key metrics
  • Review new applications for completeness and accuracy for underwriting and approval into the program
  • Work with Account management to implement new customers onto the products
  • Self-Motivated under minimal supervision
  • Able to Multi task and handle the details of the sale
  • Self -Directed and willing to take risks to build our brand and your sales
  • Present the WWEX Merchant programs, pricing, policies, and ideas to new and existing merchants, in an effort to acquire additional transaction revenue for WEX profitability
  • Develop, maintain, and promote the image of WEX as stated in the WEX Mission Statement
  • Develop and maintain personal image to the WEX customers by making professional presentations and using professional communications
  • Face-to-face meetings to develop personal relationships with the merchants to grow trust in the brands
  • Maintain effective control of expenses vs. budgeted amounts
  • Achieves maximum efficiency of human and capital resources available
  • Effectively prepares all reports requested, and makes timely presentations to management
  • Effectively communicates and acquires all competitive information to help us understand current market trends
  • Travel required to meet face to face with the key decision makers to build the discount program


Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to advance opportunities through the sales cycle
  • Demonstrate top-notch communication and presentation skills with the ability to sell at all decision making levels along with strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to build and manage relationships within various partner organizations
  • Commitment to teamwork within the sales organization
  • Responsible for supporting and selling other WEX programs such as the WEX Service Network, WEXSmart and Total Fuel Management opportunities
  • Strong forecasting and pipeline management skills - will be required to maintain a prospect database on designated software (Salesforce)
  • Responsible for completing reports on a timely and regular basis including but not limited to:
  • Production reports
  • Expense reports
  • Forecasts
  • Updates on competitive activity and industry trends
  • Goal-focused, self-motivated, creative, flexible and adaptable to new situations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining focus and productivity to meet deadlines - RSPs work from their home office
