The WEX Finance Co-OP Internship offers a 4 to 24 months experience for students looking for work experience with the flexibility to attend school throughout the year. WEX Co-Op interns can work beyond the summer period into the school year with the understanding that WEX is flexible with their school schedules.
We are looking for students interested in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Accounting, and Internal Audit.
Our internship program is designed to provide interns hands-on, practical experiences while working alongside our some of our industry's smartest teams; as well as providing immediate value to their teams and our leaders.
As an intern, you will be challenged and offered the opportunity to make an impact across the business and be involved in the company's most critical business decisions.
We are looking for ambitious and curious students, who are interested in growing professionally and developing their skills to become the next generation of leaders in finance.
What you will be doing in this role
Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)
Driving operational improvements through specific project-based work.
Analyzing key business drivers such as customer and asset volume, attrition, losses, and margins. Build and improve forecasting models through the analysis of key business trends.
Collaborate with IT and line of business teams to facilitate financial accountability
Assisting in the completion of externally reported financial statements
Process and record routine accounting transactions to journals, ledgers or other records and verifies accuracy.
Assist in the posting of cash receipts, expenses or other accounting transactions.
Post details of business transactions such as funds received and disbursed and totals accounts to ledgers, computer spreadsheets, and various accounting databases.
Work under the direction of an Internal Audit Manager to develop audit scopes, work programs, test plans and writing audit reports.
Assess risk across a wide variety of business processes, and interact with all levels of the organization.

At a minimum, you should be a rising junior or senior, masters-level student, in a degree/certificate-seeking accredited program
