This HR Business Partner will be accountable for the WEX International Corporate Payments business outside the United States.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent uses her/his business expertise, mastery of basic financial fundamentals and understanding of external market trends and pressures to implement HR solutions that are relevant and timely. This person is imbedded within a business unit or division and provides HR solutions in the realm of strategic project management, merger and acquisition support, employee relations, leadership development, compensation, organizational development, and talent management.

WEX is looking for a commercially focused, strategic & collaborative team member who is a coach, facilitator, effective communicator, influencer and problem solver. Always professional and objective, this person is the quarterback for the various HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and leverages all HR programs, policies and strategies.

• Aligns strategically with assigned business groups and proactively provides support to help drive achievement of business results

• Develops, leverages and implements HR solutions to improve the utilization, performance, and retention of WEX's talent resources

• Partners with HR Centers of Excellence in areas including recruiting, compensation, benefits, HRIS, and learning and development to roll out and support HR programs within the business as well as provide input and feedback to the HR Centers of Excellence to build effective programs and practices that support the business

• Works with minimal supervision, manages and resolves complex employee relations issues

• Conducts formal investigations and compliance reviews, disputes, and employee complaints/concerns

• Provides advice and guidance on effective management practices related to workforce relations and change management through objective investigations

• Recommends actions appropriate for conflict resolution by providing performance management guidance to managers including coaching and counseling - which may include executive level performance guidance and related development

• Consults with management to provide expertise and guidance in facilitation, planning and execution and strategy development of employees to drive organizational effectiveness

• Ensures consistent application of employee relations, practices, and strategies

• Interprets applicable country laws, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies, principles, practices and methodologies and ensures HR practices are in compliance

• Assists with developing and delivering individual and/or group training presentations on a variety of employee relations and HR topics

• Facilitates meetings/committees and leads projects as needed to include possible merger and acquisition activities


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Minimum Required Qualifications for Consideration

• 10 years of proven success as an HRBP in a medium to large corporate setting

• Bachelor's degree required

• Experience with European Employment Law

• Demonstrated experience with project management and business operations

• Proven ability to work with, coach and impact change across all levels of an organization

• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication, partnering, collaboration and negotiation skills

• Demonstrated attention to quality and strategic orientation to work

• Demonstrated flexibility, grace under pressure, and respect for the highly confidential nature of the work

• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and effectively to meet frequently changing business-driven timelines

• Must pass a successful background investigation

Preferred Qualifications

• International experience

• Broad Employment Law experience in International Markets

• Business and/or Consulting experience is a plus

• HR certification and/or advance HR degree

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

• Experience with HRIS/reporting systems

• Experience with compensation, benefits and pay equity practices

• Experience with talent acquisition practices

• Experience with organizational development and design practices
