Senior Director, Territory General Manager (Mountain West)

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • As the GM in Mountain West territory, you are a key part of the regional leadership team, and work closely with the CWeO to both optimize your territory and shape the future of the region.

  • The Mountain West Territory consists of: Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada.

  • You will spend 70% of your time delivering the performance of your territory, and 30% designing new strategies to optimize member experience and reduce churn; these strategies will be tested in the U.S., Canada & Israel (USCI) and if successful, rolled out globally.

  • You are responsible for the P/L and end-to-end member experience in a territory and will oversee qualitative and quantitative performance on a day to day basis.

  • You will collaborate closely with the Real Estate and Physical Product leaders to expand the territory and deliver new locations on-time and on-brand.

  • Serve as a key ambassador for the WeWork brand with civic leaders, the press, and local partners.

  • Work in collaboration with regional sales and marketing leaders to achieve objectives.

  • Lead the Community Management teams in your markets.

  • Create a robust pipeline of community leaders ready to expand the region and deliver a superior member experience.

  • Operate all locations according to standards and on-brand.

  • Create a collaborative and connected environment among members.

  • Put a focus on churn mitigation with strategies to increase retention.

  • Live the mission and values of WeWork at all times; model the leadership behaviors you expect to see in your territory and in the region.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and optimize the P/L and pro-forma (member growth, occupancy, revenue and margins); continually look for creative solutions to enhance the P/L.

  • Actively partner with the Real Estate Team in the selection of future market opportunities; co-approve all new locations within the territory.

  • Oversee the programming and layouts of all new locations in concert with the Physical Product team, taking into account market demand dynamics and historical data.

  • Day to day management of the Directors of Community in the territory, along with Operations including Facilities, Security, Cleaning and IT management supporting the portfolio.

  • As the "client" of the Sales and Marketing teams, work collaboratively to ensure that Sales & Marketing strategies support the objectives of the portfolio.

  • Partner with the Physical Product team and Public Affairs teams to navigate local government challenges and challenges related to new building launches.

  • Partner with Member Experience team to pilot and execute initiatives and develop partnerships that increase member happiness and reduce churn.

  • Re-imagine partnerships, events, and initiatives through with a fresh and innovative approach.

  • Work with Head of Ops to set territory goals and optimize KPI dashboards to monitor performance.

  • Manage and support Community team to achieve goals and develop team members personally and professionally through thoughtful career and succession planning.

  • Be the ultimate judge of upholding brand standards in the territory.


EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 15+ years' experience in hospitality, retail, multi-site real estate operations or closely related experience with strong operational focus.

  • Entrepreneurial experience is a plus.

  • P/L experience required.

  • Experience managing large organizations

  • Experience managing sales and building high visibility brands a plus.

  • Experience in real estate, facilities management or retail a plus.

  • Passion and understanding for entrepreneurial communities.

  • Thrive in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Strong communication, organization and project management skills.

  • Assertive and have a strong drive to develop those around you, while being an inspirational leader.

  • Experience in planning strategic growth.

  • Entrepreneurial experience or experience in hyper growth organizations are a huge plus

EDUCATION

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Hospitality or other related degree.

  • MBA preferred.
