Real Estate Counsel (London)

WeWork is currently seeking a mid-level real estate lawyer to join the company's growing investment and asset management group. This lawyer will advise WeWork's investment and asset management personnel on real estate transactions, from inception through negotiation and closing, and on ongoing matters in respect of assets under management. S/he will actively participate in negotiations, and will regularly represent the company with real estate investors, buyers/sellers, and other members of the real estate community as needed. Duties/Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Prepare and review real estate acquisition, investment, and joint venture documents, and negotiate related terms and conditions of real estate transactions

  • Collaborate with WeWork's Debt Capital Markets group on debt financing transactions

  • Oversee and manage outside lawyers who advise on real estate and debt financing transactions from time to time, and investigate and make determinations in light of their findings and recommendations

  • Manage the legal aspects of WeWork's real estate transaction execution processes

  • If required, participate in significant corporate transactions pursued by WeWork, including due diligence investigations and evaluation of proposed transaction terms

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school

  • 3+ years of business law experience with a primary focus in commercial real estate transactions

  • Strong drafting and negotiating skills

  • Strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Previous experience working with real estate private equity clients
