West Monroe is seeking an Experienced Consultant with current business / technology consulting experience to join our growing IT Strategy and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) team within our Operations Excellence practice. West Monroe’s Operations Excellence practice is focused on driving value from strategy through execution—not merely pointing to best practices and standards.  We enable clients to realize the enduring benefits of IT, business, process, and organizational optimization by delivering real, sustainable adoption.  Our solutions focus on value creation through the lenses of people, process, and technology across functional transformation and related platforms, productivity, and transformation enablement. Each consultant within our Operations Excellence practice is aligned to one of six focus areas including Financial Management, Organizational Change Management, Portfolio & Program Management, Supply Chain Management, Productivity, and IT Strategy & Business Process Outsourcing.

Experienced Consultants work in a variety of projects including: defining IT and functional transformation and optimization strategies, leading sourcing and procurement events, mapping processes, gathering requirements, and creating solutions and recommendations. You will work directly with clients across a variety of industries to identify business needs and solve problems by using facilitation and analytical skills, and broad IT and business knowledge. You may participate in multi-disciplinary work teams to successfully execute complex projects.   

Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs, current-state processes, and future-state requirements through interviews, documentation review, and facilitated workshops  
  • Memorialize the output of internal and client discussions through active listening, note taking, and critical thinking   
  • Gather and write functional and technical requirements for technology components, IT services, business processes, and/or commercial software applications   
  • Define key performance indicators as well as associated data sources, calculations, and validation approaches  
  • Develop analytical frameworks, structure quantitative analysis, define data requirements, and document assumptions to capture current-state costs and project future-state costs and savings, including to identify and track cost and productivity improvements for clients  
  • Develop new modeling approaches and data analysis techniques for clients   
  • Collect, organize, cleanse, and manipulate large data sets  
  • Create and present business cases and financial models  
  • Develop and document improvement recommendations, roadmaps, and execution workplans  
  • Develop Request for Proposal / Request for Quote documentation with associated pricing models, and response evaluation models 
  • Identify trends using data, compile reports, and monitor results   
  • Collaborate with client and project team members to develop storyboards and creative ways to present complex concepts; develop resulting deliverable content  
  • Participate in the presentation of project or workstream content  
  • Help to implement comprehensive project management plans across a program of multiple projects, and drive execution of individual workstreams through good program and project management practices  

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required 
  • 1-3 years of experience in providing technology and/or business process advisory consultation, which would ideally be with a professional services firm or industry leading Fortune 100 commercial firm  
  • Experience executing projects on an end-to-end basis with minimal supervision  
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills 
  • Strong quantitative and diagnostic abilities, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills  
  • Demonstrated leadership ability  
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to accept feedback  
  • Flexibility to adapt to challenging work situations and varied styles 
  • Ability to multitask  
  • Desire and ability to work collaboratively and to build relationships with clients and colleagues  
  • Experience within one or more of West Monroe Partners’ core industries including Energy & Utilities, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Insurance, Consumer Products, Banking and/or Private Equity

  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Information on our competitive total rewards package, including our bonus structure and benefits is here. Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.

Employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, purchase shares from our employee stock ownership program and be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees will also receive unlimited flexible time off and ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Ten weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use after successful completion of one year of employment.
