Job Description

Enterprise Business Service Technology (EBST) development team is looking to hire IBM DataPower developer who will be responsible for developing, implementing and supporting interfaces for enterprise releases. The position will be part of the development team members working in several critical interfaces across multiple lines of business like Community Banking, Corporate Technology, Digital Channels, Wholesale Banking and Lending. As a developer, the person will gain a strong understanding of the systems end to end work flow, the technical architecture and the overall business functionality. This position designs, develops and unit tests SOAP/REST based web services (as a proxy service provider and the client); contributes to functional specifications as they pertain to complex business requirements and processes through effective analysis (which includes participation in project JAR/JAD sessions and working with other SMEs, architects, business/technology partners); translates highly complex business requirements into technical solutions through efficient design and using appropriate tools and technologies; provides support for overall systems testing; supports the implementation of the application into production. The individual will support and assist in the analysis and design of complex technical solutions and in the maintenance and modification of new and existing interfaces, including creating WFXML based XML schema, development using XSLT and configuration using DataPower, creating unit tests, creating necessary design documentation, participating in code review, researching production issues, and test support issues. This position will work with the teams in the U.S. and in EGS locations for building/developing/maintaining integrations latest tools and technologies.

Under direct supervision and in a learning capacity, assists in the development and implementation of basic to moderately complex internet and intranet applications. Primarily performs production support and troubleshooting, including monitoring and maintenance. Makes basic changes, fixes or enhancements to applications, escalating more complex issues as needed. Uses programming tools to write XSLT and Java scripts. Under the direction of senior staff, is beginning to learn business requirement analysis, presentation of options to users, troubleshooting and DataPower development. Has basic knowledge of DataPower and related technologies but work is guided by playbooks, mentoring, guidelines and templates.

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of web development experience; including programming and developing web applications
  • 1+ year of XML (Extensible Markup Language) experience
  • 1+ year of DataPower experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of MQ Series Messaging
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members
  • Experience operating effectively in a geographically dispersed organization
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex technical problems
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Java
  • Agile experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with IDE tools like Eclipse (or similar IDE like IntelliJ)

Job Expectations

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed or scheduled
