The Services and Operations group is a key component to the on-going success of Wells Fargo Advisors (WFA). The group provides for the service, transactional and technical foundation upon which all of Wells Fargo Advisors' business functions operate; and does so in a manner that continually improves the firm's competitive advantage.

The Trade Processing team is a group within Operations that supports key back-office and field facing functions to provide support to our field staff and clients. The Trade Processing group supplies support to our FA's on the processing of Equity, Fixed Income, Options, Unit Investment Trusts (UIT's), and Alternative Investment transactions from the entry of the order to the settlement of the customer activity.

This is a senior leadership role that directs and manages a segment of key business functions, Wire Room, Fixed Income Trading Services, Regulatory reporting, and Trade Corrections, within the brokerage firm across multiple sites, domestically and internationally. Provide strategic oversight and direction to deliver highly complex and regulated processes and high-quality service to multiple sales channels with unique needs. Working collaboratively with senior leadership within the Services and Operations group, as well as other key leaders and corporate partners, this role is accountable for driving team performance to achieve the firm's objectives.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage multiple business units with diverse technical requirement
  • Coaching, developing and mentoring of direct reports and overall team
  • Continuously improve quality and service while strengthening controls
  • Monitoring risk and ensuring proper controls and procedures are followed

Required Qualifications

  • 9+ years of operations experience
  • 6+ years of management experience in operations

Desired Qualifications

  • Solid budget forecasting and risk management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
  • 6+ years of brokerage operations experience
  • FINRA registration including Series 7 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
  • Ability to communicate trends and impacts to mid-senior level management
  • Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity
  • Ability to manage tactical or strategic initiatives
  • Ability to manage team members in multiple locations
  • Knowledge and understanding of the trade settlement process
  • Knowledge and understanding of trade flow, settlements, and back office systems
  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
  • Experience recruiting, motivating, and coaching
  • Leadership experience including; coaching, training, and mentoring
  • Experience delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Purchase and Sales, experience including daily processes through Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and Office of the Comptroller of The Currency (OCC)
  • Solid understanding of Order Audit Trail System (OATS), Trade Reporting and Compliance Engine (TRACE), and Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) regulatory reporting requirements
  • Ability to work and influence successfully build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members

Job Expectations

  • Registration for FINRA Series 99 must be completed within 120 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
