The Independent Testing and Validation (IT&V) team is responsible for the development and design of methodologies and standards for review activities across Consumer and Small Business Banking in alignment with the Risk Management Framework, and ensuring effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs, risks, and controls according to standards and other applicable policies. The selected individual will be responsible for leading RCSA testing and horizonal regulatory Outcome Based testing. UDAAP experience is desired.

This Senior Testing Specialist will be accountable for developing and executing independent operational and compliance risk control testing focusing on emerging issues and targeted testing. Strong business acumen and experience will be a determining factor in selection. Successful candidates will be articulate, thought leaders, and possess demonstrated leadership capability; they will be impressive in their inter-personal effectiveness, regarding their accomplishments, and with a proven ability to engage and influence senior management and business and risk partners.

In this role, you will:
  • Lead or participate in moderate to high risk or complex review activities in a matrixed environment and communicate emerging risks to management within Independent Testing
  • Apply your knowledge and leadership skills in performing RCSA, control, and incremental compliance testing engagement.
  • Contribute to large scale planning related to Independent Testing deliverables
  • Review and research moderately complex potential corrective actions, and follow through on reporting, escalation, and resolution
  • Develop and design methodologies and standards for review activities across the enterprise in alignment with the risk management framework
  • Ensure effective and appropriate testing, validation, and documentation of review activities for risk programs and controls according to standards and other applicable policies
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead team to meet Independent Testing deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of risk management framework and the risk and control environment
  • Make decisions in complex situations requiring solid understanding of risk management framework and the risk and control environment that influence and lead enterprise testing to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with Audit, Legal, external agencies, and regulatory bodies to resolve risk related topics
  • Lead project teams and mentor individuals
Required Qualifications, US:
  • 4+ years of Independent Testing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Significant knowledge of consumer protection laws and regulations, such as Reg. DD, Reg. CC, UDAAP, Reg. Z, FCRA, SCRA, Reg. B, FDCPA., and Reg. E
  • Prior Outcome Based testing experience
  • Experience in Audit, Compliance, Risk and Testing
  • Ability to read and understand complex regulatory and policy requirements
  • Experience working with internal and external auditors and examiners
  • Ability to take initiative and work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Strong risk management leadership skills including the ability to influence effectively in a matrix environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Skilled in anticipating change, adjusting behavior to effectively handle rapid change, and the ability to adjust behavior to remain resilient through ambiguity or setbacks.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Adaptable to new methods, tools, and technology
  • Ethical integrity and proven ability to serve as a role model by reinforcing and demonstrating the core values and behavioral expectations contained in Wells Fargo's Vision, Values & Goals.
  • Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
