The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

Wells Fargo Bank N.A. seeks a Senior Lead Analytics Consultant in Charlotte, NC.

Job Role and Responsibility:

Develop or apply mathematical methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data to provide usable information. Responsible for performing highly complex activities related to creation, implementation, documentation, validation, articulation and defense, on-going maintenance of complex models used to analyze risks or enable decision making in business, product, marketing or other functional areas. Duties typically include developing quantitative strategies for real time decisioning and/or long term objectives, performing analytical support and/or modeling, and providing insights, regarding a wide array of business initiatives. This job has expertise in the theory and mathematics behind the analyses. This job requires extensive knowledge of the most complex financial products and/or portfolios assigned, analyses undertaken and takes a global look at how analyses interdepend and interact. May interface with regulators or auditors. Needs to have an inherent, multi-dimensional understanding risk sharing agreements as well as the global perspective of the reach of the analytics. Telecommuting is permitted up to two days a week. Position must appear in person to the location listed as the work address.

Required Qualifications :

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or in a related position involving Analytics and Reporting, Financial Modeling, Statistics, or related technical field.

Specific skills required:
  • 7 years design and planning experience in systems, applications, or IT Architecture
  • 4 years of experience using Business Intelligence architecture and development skills, including MicroStrategy or Tableau
  • 4 years of experience with SQL & Teradata a plus
  • 4 years of reporting and analysis
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience providing effective challenges to models developed in lines of business to reduce model risk to meet or exceed regulatory and industry standards
  • Experience working within the regulatory framework for financial institutions
  • Financial services industry experience
  • Experience with risk or complaints data.
