Market Job Description
Wells Fargo Commercial Distribution Finance (CDF) is a leading provider of specialized inventory finance solutions and services. CDF focusses on meeting the needs of its customers, helping facilitate the manufacturing, distribution and sale of products across a variety of industries.
CDF works closely with over 2000 manufacturers and distributors, providing over $47 billion in annual financing to over 40,000 dealers including power-sports, marine & recreational vehicles, to outdoor lawn & garden, agriculture, technology and electronics & appliances.

About the Role
The APAC Cash Desk team are responsible for providing a quality service to both internal and external customers across the APAC region which is delivered in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy. The team will handle payments in varying currencies, which may be manual, including SWIFT payments or via automated systems.

This role will be primarily responsible for managing the day to day processing of inbound and outbound payments to our customers, and this will include taking ownership to resolve queries including investigations, which may be complex, relating to cash transactions. This role will also provide back up support to the wider team, as required by the APAC Cash Desk Manager.

The successful candidate will work closely with the CDF Operations teams located in Sydney and Shanghai and can be located in either location.
The candidate will be required to be fluent in both Mandarin and English, as some key tasks will require ability to access/process via systems operated in both China and Australia.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Processing manual outbound payments to customers in the required currency, ensuring high degree of accuracy, in a timely manner and in compliance with all business policies and procedures
  • Ensuring manual inbound payments are correctly allocated to the customers facility in a timely manner and in compliance with all business policies and procedures
  • Timely escalation of any issues or concerns directly to APAC Cash Desk Manager
  • Collaborating with team, including but not limited to the Operations team to work through and resolve any issues. The expectation is that you take ownership to resolve those that are assigned to you, providing regular updates until successfully resolved
  • To complete reconciliation and reporting as required
  • Provide support and guidance to junior team members, to help build their knowledge and experience within the APAC Cash Desk Team
  • To provide back up support to other team members where required, including but not limited to cash forecasting, revision and updating of any procedures relating to cash desk
  • Be responsible for reviewing current risk and controls within current processes to ensure they are effective and identify areas for improvement that are communicated effectively to the Cash Desk Manager. To take responsibility and ownership to implement the required changes
  • Work with the Cash Desk Management team to support the development and implementation of all projects, including but not limited to testing of internal and external systems as required

Market Skills and Certifications
Qualifications Required
  • At least 2 years' experience gained in a banking environment or equivalent, with operational cash handling, accounts payable/receivable execution and funds management
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge & understanding of the Chinese & Australian banking systems
  • Understanding of other banking systems used globally is desirable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a high functioning positive team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and to timelines, with minimal supervision
  • Experience of working in a pan-Asia or global company would be beneficial
  • Flexibility of work to support different country requirements, including shift work and leave schedule
