Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.
The Wholesale Flood Operations (WFO) Team ensures that required and adequate flood insurance is obtained when a loan is secured by real estate. The WFO group monitors flood insurance on these loans from origination and throughout the life of the loan. The WFO group is also responsible for the monitoring of federal flood compliance requirements issued by FEMA for all Wholesale lines of business.
The primary responsibility for this position will be to perform quality assurance on all work performed by WFO. This includes but not limited to flood determinations, pre-close and post-close review of loan documents, appraisals, flood insurance, map zone changes, Flood Certificate information, and perform the necessary due-diligence to assure compliance with FEMA Flood regulations. These services and related tasks are necessary to issue a clear-to-close to the Wholesale lines of business front office, or to otherwise ensure all necessary Insurance and Flood compliance requirements are in force. The candidate for this position will also be required to analyze and solve complex property and structure inquiries, and coordinate with the line of business lending groups and team members to assure the highest levels of quality and customer service are achieved while strictly meeting all FEMA and internal compliance requirements.

There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: quality assurance, financial services administration, loan documentation, loan servicing, underwriting; or a BS/BA degree or higher

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Quality assurance experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of loan documentation
  • Knowledge and understanding of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory flood compliance
  • Flood insurance experience
