Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.

The Process Engineer Manager for Business Process Definition (BPD) is an addition to our growing team. It is under the Wholesale Business Process Management (BPM) organization, and will report to the Business Process Definition Process Engineer Manager. As a Process Engineer Manager, you will lead a team of process engineers and associates in assisting with definition and documentation of processes across Wholesale Banking.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage individuals and matrixed teams focused on process engineering initiatives, including developing business processes models
  • Evaluates team members work to determine gaps, risks, and opportunities in order to prioritize design efforts and achieve maximum efficiency for the company
  • Provides clear and concise direction and training of direct reports and matrixed staff
  • Responsible for the successful execution of the process definition framework and methodology
  • Provide leadership on the development and advancement of our common enterprise Operational and Process Excellence framework, methods, standards, techniques, tools, training and language
  • Drive business awareness of our common enterprise Operational and Process Excellence methods, techniques, tools, etc.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to sprint teams and LOB leadership in process definition standards, processes, tools and techniques
  • Develop and maintain the process engineering team into a pool of highly skilled expert resources for the businesses to utilize
  • Provide thought leadership in the areas of process definition, process management and process improvement
  • Responsible for ensuring Enterprise process modeling standards and quality assurance processes are followed
  • Coach teams in optimizing use of BPM process and tools

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.
Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following, and adhering to and if applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite, and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: process engineering, military (supply chain, analytics and/or engineering); or BS degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, actuarial science, engineering, physics; or LEAN/Six Sigma Green belt and 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: process engineering, military (supply chain, analytics and/or engineering)

Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of Business Process Management Notation (BPMN) software such as iGrafx
  • Knowledge and understanding of Statistical Analysis software such as Minitab
  • Facilitation skills such as Helix
  • Change Management skills such as Prosci/ADKAR
  • Knowledge and understanding of Rapid Process Automation software such as Blue Prism
  • Facilitation skills, including ability to facilitate decision-making and broker agreements amongst diverse, differing, and/or conflicting perspectives/priorities
  • Financial services industry experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Familiar with Agile tools like JIRA, CA Rally
  • Knowledge and understanding of Business Process Management Notation (BPMN) methodology and modeling
  • Experience in doing Process Decomposition and/or creating process taxonomies for financial organization
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-skill level engineering team focused on process definition and improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex engineering concepts and approaches into clear, concise, and simple directives and instruction for team members, business partners, and executive leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and lead through others on process improvement methodologies with emphasis on Lean/six sigma principles

Job Expectations
  • Wells Fargo Business Process Management Intermediate learning level or Wells Fargo Business Process Management Intermediate Knowledge Check and external LEAN/Six Sigma Green Belt within 1 year of job start date
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
