The Services and Operations group is a key component to the on-going success of Wells Fargo Clearing Services (WFCS). The group provides for the service, transactional and technical foundation upon which all of WFCS's business functions operate; and does so in a manner that continually improves the firm's competitive advantage.The Books and Records Team, within Service and Operations group, is responsible for administering the Firm's Books and Records Program.

The Operational Risk Consultant 3 will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the Books & Records Inventory in compliance with Enterprise and Brokerage Policy Standards
  • Maintenance of a records inventory will include:
  • Frequent meetings where new applications and projects are reviewed for books and records impact
  • Facilitating recurring attestations via SharePoint
  • Regular interaction with leaders in Service & Operations, Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), Compliance, Legal, and Risk
  • Provide credible challenge and analytical feedback when representing the Books and Records Team in project planning meetings
  • Maintaining compliance with books and records regulatory requirements: SEC Rule 17a-3, SEC Rule 17a-4, and FINRA Rule Series 4500

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both
  • 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: additional compliance, additional operational risk management, IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience; or a BS/BA degree or higher in business or a related field

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • SharePoint experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of maintaining and updating SharePoint team web content
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Ability to quickly learn business operations and processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements surrounding broker dealer roles and FINRA Rules
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical writing
  • Knowledge and understanding of project coordination or support
  • Experience writing Business Requirements Documents (BRD's)
  • Ability to drive the requirements process with both technical and business partners
  • Ability to gather data requirements
  • FINRA registration including Series 7 (or FINRA recognized equivalents)
