The program blends asset based lending, classroom, and online training courses with hands-on training in the Business Finance division of WFCF, which originates and manages asset based credit facilities to private equity backed, public company, and entrepreneur owned companies with credit facilities ranging in size from $5 million up to $3 billion.

Training and Development:

The Financial Analyst Program is designed to help you transition from your academic life to the competitive world of business and industry. The program focuses on your training and development through the following channels:

On-the-job business experience:

You will gain in-depth experience as a credit analyst working on a high-performing team. Responsibilities include analyzing industry, collateral, and financial trends of both private and publicly traded middle-market clients in various industries; updating trend cards with pertinent data on collateral, financials, projections, covenant compliance, free cash flow, audit/appraisal statistics, and bank product exposure; presenting noteworthy trends to your office’s senior management team in monthly meetings; reviewing field examinations and appraisals for collateral performance; spreading and analyzing clients’ financial statements; attending client meetings to develop a deeper understanding of the client’s business; reviewing postings of collateral to the loan system; reviewing daily wire transfer requests; completing compliance-related tasks as requested by the portfolio management team; writing credit approval memos to support loan modifications.

Beyond the program:

Analysts who successfully complete the three year Financial Analyst Program can choose to explore a variety of roles within Wells Fargo offering a different aspect of the banking experience. The program is ideal for those who are interested in career paths as a credit analyst, underwriter, portfolio manager, and relationship manager.

Ongoing learning:

We also offer you opportunities throughout the year to learn high-level aspects of credit, including a quarterly speaker series hosted by senior managers and online credit courses.

Specialized training sessions:

Depending on your assignment, you will participate in accounting courses and receive specialized asset based lending training to foster a deeper understanding of WFCF’s products. You will become familiar with financial, technical, technology, and operational tools and processes to help you improve your credit, financial analysis, written and oral presentation, and problem-solving skills.
