Department Overview

Corporate Finance plans, tracks, analyzes and reports financial results; manages the company's balance sheet, including liquidity and funding, capital and investments; oversees internal real estate needs; drives acquisitions; is responsible for financial controls; and leads corporate strategy. Corporate Finance identifies areas of financial risk and mitigates efforts appropriately. It works with capital markets to provide lowest possible costs of incremental funding, subject to capital and financial risk management constraints. It improves financial performance by analyzing business unit performance and recommending areas of improvement. About the Role

This individual will lead a group of 7 - 10 team members that are responsible for (1- BD - various trade validation and reconciliation activities, processing of payment wires, validating and monitoring of monthly accrual accounting, performing G/L reseach and preparation and posting of journal entries, and preparation of FINRA Financial Reporting.), (2-SAG - various trade validation and reconciliation activities, posting of manual journal entries and preparation of various internal and external reports related to HR and Corporate Staff, Benefits, EIT, CAO International and Insurance.), (3 - GLSS - various trade validation and reconciliation activities, posting of manual journal entries and preparation of various internal reports related to Parent and Subsidiary accounting.)

The role involves close work with specialists in other accounting operations groups, enterprise risk, and enterprise technology. The ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate effectively is an asset. This individual is a significant contributor to the team's objectives to improve the data quality and the efficiency of the external reporting processes. They will lead training initiatives, act as a product knowledge resource, and coordinate closely with other operational accounting functions and compliance teams across the organization. In addition, this individual will be the primary point of contact for business units on various projects and will be responsible for recruiting, retaining and developing talented team members through continuous coaching and allocation of work assignments. The successful candidate must be able to manage multiple deliverables at one-time, can prioritize and communicate effectively, and is able to work to meet tight deadlines and adapt in a changing environment.

Essential Qualifications
  • Candidate must be a graduate of BS Accountancy
  • Candidates must be a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) and FINRA Series 7 and 99 certified
  • 5-7+ years of public accounting experience preferably in Big Four audit firms
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Accounting and Audit preferably related to Trade Reconciliation
  • Background in product specifics are highly preferred (HR, Benefits, Technology, Insurance and Securities) with demonstrated knowledge of month-end general ledger close process
  • Exposure to Mutual Fund industry - knowledge and understanding in relevant accounting principles and mutual funds administration, which includes financial reporting, fund accounting, and operations
  • Relevant years of Reporting experience preferably with the knowledge of FFIEC 009 Country Exposure Report (CER), FR2510 Reporting, and financial (FINOP) reporting, analytics experience, and general ledger experience
  • Experience in successfully leading staffs, including training and providing input to performance evaluations
