This is an opportunity to join the Derivatives Center of Excellence (DCOE) within the Capital Markets COE. This COE is responsible for driving improvement and automation of the company's derivative accounting and reporting. This position will coordinate with areas throughout the organization including Corporate Controllers, Wholesale, Counterparty Risk, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, and other groups to improve and transition various derivative accounting and reporting activities.
This position will serve as a Financial Accounting Consultant on the accounting operations team within the COE.
Specific responsibilities include:
•Prepare balance sheet reconciliation for the data warehouse to the general ledger. Research and resolve discrepancies noted.
•Gather, analyze and prepare general ledger entries to insure proper presentation of the Wells Fargo Balance Sheet for reporting requirements.
•Preparation of current derivative submissions supporting SEC and Regulatory reporting
•Partner with shared services team to write BRDs and support testing throughout the development cycle to automate and streamline accounting and reporting deliverables
•Analyze data to build quality checks within and across various reports
•Partner with Lines of Business and other areas as necessary to identify and resolve data problems
•Partner with internal audit, external audit, EC&O team and others on exams and governance and oversight
•Assist other areas of the team as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, financial reporting, accounting reporting or risk reporting; or a BS/BA or higher in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, or Business and 2+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics, financial reporting, accounting reporting or risk reporting

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting


Other Desired Qualifications
•Consolidations/Affiliate Accounting Experience
•Knowledge and understanding of reconciliations and controls
•Familiarity with SQL, MS Access or other appropriate tools for large data set interrogation
