FCM Commissions, Fees & Control Analyst (CapMkts Middle Office Analyst 3)

This position supports the Wells Fargo Securities FCM business. The candidate will be part of a FCM Commissions, Fee and Control group within the FCM Department. The candidate will be responsible for setting up commission and fees, analyzing and ensuring all Exchange Fees and Commissions are collected and captured correctly on trades and downstream systems. The candidate may from time to tome work with multiple stakeholders (Sales and Trading, Finance, Brokerage, Static Data Group, Technology, etc.)

The candidate should be general knowledge of both Futures and OTC Cleared swaps trade flow and in particular fees and commissions. The applicant must be able to filter and synthesize detailed information, as well as understand system processes and workflows. In addition, the applicant will partake in various projects ongoing basis as Wells Fargo Securities BD and FCM business continues to grow.

Functions for this position include:

Main responsibilities include GMI fees / commission set up, commission schedule creation, EGUS initiation and rate schedule set up. In addition, gross team interaction and exception resolution with the FCM – Reconciliations, Trade Management, Cash and Collateral Management, Client Service. Point contact for discrepancies due to incorrect fees/commissions, missing EGUS. Assist with timely aged items resolution by escalating to Team Lead. Assist with monthly and aged items causing company policy violations; MIS reporting related to all FCM functions including operations MIS, P&L and revenue reporting and sales person performance.

  • Interact with Operations, Front Office Trading and Sales, Finance, and Clearing Brokers to resolve client commissions and fees issues.
  • Work directly with Electronic Give-Up System to initiate and execute Give-Up Agreements for both Clients and Firm Affiliates.
  • Work on various FCM Business projects.
  • Review and generate various reports to management related to Fees and commission upon request.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of capital markets industry experience

Other Desired Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Futures clearing experience with trade support, client support, reconciliation's or commission and fees management
  • Basic understanding of general ledger accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with a proficient knowledge of Excel or Access is needed while also possessing analytical problem solving skills.
  • 4 year college degree (preferred majors are: Finance, Accounting, Math/Engineering or Economics)
  • Proven experience utilizing SunGard GMI processing system or similar back office systems
  • FCM startup experience; Knowledge of FCM operations functions
  • Experience in business analysis, working with project management,
  • Highly motivated with ability to drive results
  • Independent thinker yet adaptable to a procedure oriented and a fast paced environment, have the ability to work independently on project related details and provide management and clients with ad-hoc information as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task, perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems otherwise escalates them immediately to the Manager to seek resolution.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management, operations, technology, finance, and other areas within the bank and will be encouraged to escalate risk and any processing concerns promptly
