Wells Fargo Technology sets IT strategy; enhances the design, development, and operations of our systems; optimizes the Wells Fargo infrastructure footprint; provides information security; and enables continuous banking access through in-store, online, ATM, and other channels to Wells Fargo's more than 70 million global customers.
This individual will be a senior member of Wells Fargo's engineering team working on the customization and deployment of a private cloud computing Infrastructure as a Service offering. Will serve as a cloud data base engineer for the cloud offering and will focus on engineering and supporting primarily MySQL, and to a lesser extend MongoDB and RabbitMQ. Will also work closely with the application development teams to insure that data management is addressing data persistence and availability needs. Responsibilities include scripting and automation of database SDLC activities including installation, configuration, database definition, backup, recovery, patching, and overall database lifecycle management.
This person may interface with senior management regularly and executives consistently. Provides leadership to technical writers to develop new documentation, departmental procedures and user support guides. Consults with management, customers and staff and recommends process and procedure improvements. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan.
Experience deploying and maintaining RabbitMQ.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 5 + years of MySQL experience
  • 3+ years of MongoDB experience
  • 5+ years of Red Hat Linux or UNIX experience

Desired Qualifications
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of cloud computing
  • Knowledge and understanding of Web Services
  • Source or version control tools experience
  • Virtualization technologies experience
  • 2+ years of Puppet experience
