Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
Wells Fargo Auto Credit Risk Originations is seeking a strong Credit Portfolio Consultant to join the Ability-to-Pay and Loan Stipulations Team, focused on ensuring loan affordability for our customers and managing credit risk through effective and appropriate loan stipulations. This team is instrumental in driving core changes and growth for the business, as well as increasing operational efficiency.
This individual will partner closely with credit risk leaders, stakeholders within Consumer Lending and Corporate Credit, and be responsible for performing robust analysis, developing / enhancing underwriting policies and procedures, and ensuring appropriate documentation and communication of changes.
Duties of this position may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performing complex, multivariate analysis to drive policy development and enhancement
  • Effectively communicating to Senior Leaders the impacts strategies will have on the portfolio
  • Collaborating with internal business partner to ensure flawless data process, analysis and accurate credit strategy implementation
  • Responding to requests for specific, customized reports and ad hoc analyses
  • Identifying and recommending potential data sources for business requirements and analytical needs
  • Participating on relevant project teams representing Originations Risk Strategy
The Candidate
This leader will have a track record of success in building and managing industry-leading credit risk solutions in the financial services industry. This experience will include developing and/or managing credit risk or origination strategies based on a thorough knowledge of highly disciplined business process and risk management processes. Successful candidates will have strong problem solving skills. The role requires a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement.

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of risk experience
  • 2+ years of SQL or SAS experience

Desired Qualifications
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in a quantitative discipline
  • Outstanding problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 3+ years of credit risk experience
  • 3+ years of SQL or SAS experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 3 + years of SAS and SQL
  • Portfolio reporting and statistical analysis capabilities
  • MS Office Suite proficiency
  • Experience in credit risk strategy development experience
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines, and adapt easily to change
  • Auto industry or Credit Card industry experience
  • Results driven
