As the company's second line of defense, Corporate Risk - or Independent Risk Management - provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities. Independent Risk Management establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.
The Consumer Credit Associate will be part of the Auto Credit Risk team with responsibility for developing, implementing and monitoring collections strategies that increase process efficiency and protect Wells Fargo from credit losses.
Responsibilities of this position include, but will not be limited to:
  • Using SAS and SQL on a regular basis to query data from Auto Data Warehouse
  • Analyzing the effectiveness of the repossession process, through recurring reporting and ad hoc analytics
  • Developing proposals to improve the effectiveness of the repossession process, including supporting data analysis and creating summarized PowerPoint proposals
  • Design and create robust monitoring and reporting to compare actual strategy performance against expectations or control group
  • Maintaining accurate and clear documentation
  • Creating and monitoring independent controls to mitigate risks within the respossession process
  • Other data analysis, reporting, or strategy design requests as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a risk role demonstrated through work or military experience; or a Master's degree or higher in business or economics
  • 1+ year of SQL or SAS experience
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of auto finance industry
  • 1+ year of consumer lending experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of auto loan collections
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets
  • Strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint skills
