The Platform Engineering team is responsible for supporting and maintaining PaaS within Wells Fargo. This position is within the Enterprise Application Hosting Services organization on the PaaS Engineering team and will be responsible for the design, build, and support of Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes. This position consults at the highest technical level with clients and IT management and enterprise-wide teams on design, planning, integration, implementation, scalability, problem definition and resolution of PaaS hosted applications. Also, engineering issues involving the interrelated demands of hardware, software, telecommunications, security, and control.
Platform engineer will be responsible for building PaaS environments, developing and maintaining automation scripts, patching, performance, and for the overall health of all PaaS environments. Engineer will be responsible for the monitoring of all PaaS environments, testing product enhancements, and upgrading platforms. Background must reflect senior technical experience, deployment of applications, strong application knowledge, and server/system support for hosted applications. Experience supporting shared hosting platforms, proficient with J2EE, have good networking skills, code or shell scripting experience, and exceptional troubleshooting skills preferred. Knowledge of products such as Ansible and Splunk are preferred. Keeps abreast of new technological developments. Conducts evaluations of new products and vendor proposals.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of web systems environments experience
  • 10+ years of information technology experience
  • 1+ year of Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) experience
  • 5+ years of computer application development experience
  • 3+ years of Spring framework experience such as Spring Boot
  • 3+ years of scripting experience using Windows Powershell, Unix Shell Scripting, Perl, Python, Java or PL-SQL

Desired Qualifications
  • Web application installations, upgrades, and deployment experience
  • Experience with servers or systems that support/host web applications
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading enterprise wide implementations
  • J2EE experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology servers or systems that support/host web applications
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of Splunk
  • Experience with Ansible automation tool
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience working with Kubernetes computer program

Job Expectations
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Flexibility to address incidents as needed 24 hours a day
