Business Systems Consultant 3

Market Job Description Acts as a liaison between the client area and technical organization by planning, conducting and completing an analysis of moderately complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Provides technical assistance in identifying and evaluating automated systems and related procedures that are cost effective and meet business requirements. Coordinates test plans and programming activities. Works with user groups to provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs and recommend changes to the automated systems. Gathers data and prepares necessary reports. Updates reports and databases used by the client group. Market Skills and Certifications Tools development and reporting

Required Skills -

5+ years of experience in business systems analysis and/or design.

2+ Years of business analysis, process development or technology management experience in a telecommunications environment

Strong understanding of application life-cycle (requirements, enhancement design and development, overall knowledge of the release process, script writing for UAT and post-deployment testing)

‘Expert’ skill level with Microsoft Excel (experienced with searches, filters, macros, Vlook-ups, Pivots, formulas, etc)

‘Proficient’ skill level with all other Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Word, Visio, SharePoint 2013 and Outlook)

Detail-oriented, organized, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), customer service focused

Preferred Skills -

Prior experience in Telecommunications a big plus; includes knowledge of Local Exchange Carrier services as well as basic understanding of Key, PBX and IP Telephony phone systems

QA and UAT test experience

Self-starter, accustomed to deadlines, and can work well with limited supervision

Job Expectations

English Language Proficiency – written and verbal

Availability to work Standard US Business Hours

No license required and limited travel requirements (team offsites or defined strategic meetings only)

Specific Job Functions

  • Assume responsibility for leading the application enhancement process including requirements gathering, prioritization and approval, script writing, UAT and issue resolution.
  • Manage internal / external reporting & metrics
  • Import/ Export data and resolve exceptions and data integrity issues
  • Provide end-user support / assistance
  • Assist with preparation/update of process documentation and training materials
  • Facilitate meetings, take minutes, track issues/actions, etc
