Provides technical support and maintenance for computer applications and programs. Under general direction, uses diagnostic tools and/or vendor specifications to troubleshoot moderately complex computer application problems to maintain or restore service or data to programs, resolves moderately complex issues or escalates as needed to meet established service level agreements. Completes required logs and reports. Assists in preparing programming specifications and completes programming tasks to maintain or modify current programs or to develop less complex computer programs. With guidance, tests and debugs applications and programs. Writes queries or code to extract data and/or validate data loads. Updates related documentation and procedures. Understands BCP, quality, security and compliance requirements for supported areas and assists in testing the business continuation plan.
Market Skills and Certifications
Overall 2+ years of relevant experience on following:
Experience in Asset Lifecycle Management - Hardware provisioning through server build, procurement, design and install layered products. Experience in software upgrades, install, uninstallation of middleware and other application software.
Experience in one of the middleware flavors like Tomcat/Websphere/Jboss/Weblogic
Experience in Unix /shell scripting/PERL
Experience in working with System admins, production support,development, teams.
Ability to understand enterprise policies around software and hardware procurement, maintenance.
Good analytical skills to understand /resolve issues
Shall have excellent communication skills (to be part of project meetings with stakeholders)
Shall be able to work under pressure, prioritize project needs, work in shifts.
Market Skills and Certifications Unix, Shell Scripting, Perl Scripting, Ruby.Python
Microsoft Excel Intermediate
Security policies, remediation concepts related to software and hardware provisioning based on End Of Life
Software installation process in Distributed environment
Hardware procurement and provisioning design, implementation, reviews.
