The Application Information Security (AIS) domain team, as part of the Information and Cyber Security (ICS) group, is seeking an Analytic Consultant 4 with experience developing SQL queries for SQL Server Database to join the team. The AIS team uses several data sources and applications to support software development teams. This position will support application security program oversight by developing SQL queries to integrate data from multiple sources, automate analyses and reporting. This includes documenting accurate business requirements to engage data owners as well as make process improvement recommendations.
In this role, you will specifically be responsible for developing and implementing analytic tools to monitor Information Security risk-based programs in order to identify, assess and mitigate operational risks associated with AIS domain security requirements. This person m ay be involved directly or indirectly in the technical build-out and/or support of databases, query tools, reporting tools, BI tools, dashboards, etc. that enable analysis, modeling, and/or data visualization.
Specifically, you will:

  • Develop SQL queries to analyze metrics around the effectiveness of application security controls
  • Identify and integrate data sources and systems of record
  • Respond to requests for specific, customized reports, and ad hoc analyses
  • Manage and/or coordinate production of periodic operational risk performance reports for senior management, including trend analysis and recommended strategies
Other activities include:
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Scripting language experience will be a plus
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with data mining or data analytics will be a plus
  • Support Application Information Security (AIS) Domain efforts including collaboration with technology teams to deepen insights into AIS domain metrics and reporting
  • Produce key risk metrics (KPIs, KRIs, KGIs, etc.) and track/evaluate performance against defined metrics
  • Participate in other team projects or group initiatives as needed
  • Collaborate with peers and partners across Wells Fargo Technology and Corporate Risk, leveraging strong relationship building skills

Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling; or a Masters degree or higher in a quantitative field such as applied math, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, econometrics, computer sciences, or business/social and behavioral sciences with a quantitative emphasis and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: reporting, analytics, or modeling
  • 3+ years of data management experience
  • 3+ years of information security experience

  • Financial services experience
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  • Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Strong capabilities in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Advanced knowledge on data structures, relationships, transformation, and aggregation
  • Experience using Python or R for statistics and/or data engineering; or other programming experience
