We are currently hiring for Cultivation Assistants in our expanding production facility. The main responsibilities of Cultivation Assistants are to provide the daily care of our crop from seed to harvest; monitor environmental inputs to maximize production and prevent failures; and maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and sterility inside the production area. Focused attention on all tasks is necessary in order to produce the highest quality medicine for our members. Successful candidates will possess a passion for horticulture, a willingness to get their hands dirty, and a desire to continually learn more about the industry. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to learn and grow with the Company from the ground up, and to take on increasing levels of responsibility over time.
Responsibilities and Duties
The main responsibilities of the Cultivation Assistant include all aspects of the daily care of medicine from seed/clone to harvest; monitoring environmental factors to maximize production and prevent failures; and maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation inside the cultivation area.
Knowledge of basic computer and office equipment; math required for inventory, projections and measurements; biology and chemistry related to plant growth and nutrition (preferred); excellent time management skills; ability to plan and prioritize; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to focus; attention to detail; mechanical skill; ability to work effectively as a team; ability to communicate clearly and calmly; ability to remain calm in high periods of stress; absolute reliability and honesty; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet; close visual focus required; ability to spend extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching. This position requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects. Must be a Maine resident and pass a drug test and background check. Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Work history showing progressive responsibility, willingness to accept additional projects or challenges. 1+ year experience in horticulture, botany, or manufacturing related field.
