Clark Associates, Inc is the fastest growing distributor of foodservice, hospitality and janitorial supplies in the country. We distribute over 150,000 products nationally through three main channels of distribution. We are looking for an ambitious and talented leader to join our team as a Category Manager. Reporting to the VP of Procurement and President of the Company, this position offers an unparalleled degree of control over an extensive group of products. A successful Category Manger will synchronize efforts between multiple buyers in order to maximize the profitability and exposure of the product lines.
The training period for this role begins with an intensive tour of the different functions of the procurement department. Here, you will learn to develop inventory control systems, tackle complex negotiations with manufacturers, and learn how we develop and manage brand private-label products. Your tour of the procurement department will allow you to fill the role of both buyer and procurement analyst, giving you comprehensive experience with data analysis that will prove critical in your position as Category Manager. You will fill the roles of an analyst and a buyer for at least a year before moving into a Category Management role.
Work Closely with Buyers on key initiatives such as planning inventory cycles, line reviews, etc to develop and grow total category sales
Develop comprehensive category growth strategies using consumer insights, SEO data, pricing analysis and internal sales data that enable market share growth and category growth
This position works as a strategic thought leader, imparting knowledge of the category to drive profitable business performance
