CAD Technician I

Starting Hourly Rate: $22.44

Summary:

The Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician is responsible in the areas of using CAD design to provide support to engineers by preparing layouts, detailed drawings, assembly drawings, and 3D Models. Using details to include all views and dimensions necessary for fabrication or manufacture. Builds and maintains our information database. This incumbent reports to the Equipment Engineering Manager and is responsible for exercising judgment.

Job Duties:

•Demonstrate importance of the Weber Metals Safety Policy to the success of Weber Metals.

•Demonstrate importance of the Weber Metals Quality Policy to the success of Weber Metals.

•Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of the Weber Metals Environmental Policy.

•Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of the Weber Metals Business Management System.

•Participate in team related activities (departmental & global), as well as ISO Auditing as requested.

•Supportive role to ensure or exceed compliance in all environmental, safety and security areas

•Work in a team environment and meet target dates, report to work on time, with the proper PPE, and be fully engaged for the entire shift.

•Assist with the implementation of annual shutdowns for plant maintenance purposes which may include to work during weekends and holidays.

•Participate in the interviewing process for future candidates

Major Job Duties:

•Supports Engineering staff by preparing and providing drawings and models based on conceptual sketches and feedback

•Research drawings, catalogs and sketches to develop detailed dimensioned drawings, under the direction of engineers

•Develops and converts 2D drawings and 3D models from existing equipment and buildings

•Creates and maintains drafting and engineering standards

•Setup and maintains an organized file system for equipment CAD data

•Develops updated Weber Metals property drawings according to management specifications, including but not limited to campus layouts, civil drawings, utilities drawings, electrical power feed drawings, plumbing (mechanical) drawings, etc.

•Provides main drafting support to the Master Facility Office (“MFO”)

•Maintains, archives, and updates the Factory Planning blue print data base including all digital and hard copy drawings

•Supports compliance on environmental and safety issues

•Performs related duties as designated by the Equipment Engineering manager

•Works in a team environment and meet target dates, report to work on time, with the proper PPE, and be fully engaged for the entire shift

•Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

•Must be able to comply with ITAR and EAR residency requirements

•Must be fluent in English.

•Demonstrate excellent comprehension of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)

•Has a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.

•Possesses mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.

Education/Experience:

•Associates degree in Computer Aided Design or minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering environment generating drawings.
