The Principal Business Pricing Process Analyst leads complex, cross-functional pricing process transformation initiatives. This role partners closely with business leaders, functional SMEs, and technology teams to design, standardize, and implement end-to-end pricing processes that improve efficiency, reduce leakage, and enhance price realization. This position operates with a high degree of autonomy and influence, owning major initiatives or workstreams within enterprise pricing programs. The role contributes to enterprise standards, shapes best practices, and mentors other analysts, while aligning to broader transformation priorities.

You will be responsible for defining and optimizing core pricing processes across the full commercial lifecycle, including:

  • Price setting and governance
  • Discounting and exception management
  • Deal approval workflows
  • Rebate and incentive processes
  • Price execution and realization tracking

This role goes beyond process analysis to include process architecture, governance, performance measurement, and continuous improvement. You will ensure pricing processes are globally consistent, system-enabled, and aligned to strategic pricing objectives.

You will serve as a key bridge between pricing strategy and execution, ensuring business goals are translated into scalable, sustainable operational processes.

Responsibilities

Pricing Process Transformation & Optimization

  • Lead workshops and working sessions with cross-functional stakeholders to define:
    • Current-state pricing processes, pain points, and inefficiencies
    • Future-state process designs aligned to pricing strategy and business goals
  • Design and implement standardized end-to-end pricing processes, including:
    • Price list creation and updates
    • Discount and approval governance frameworks
    • Deal desk and exception handling workflows
    • Price realization and leakage tracking
  • Identify and drive opportunities for:
    • Process simplification and standardization
    • Automation and digital enablement
    • Risk reduction and control enhancements
  • Ensure pricing processes are scalable across regions, divisions, and business models.
  • Establish and support pricing governance frameworks, including approval thresholds, policies, and controls.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Collaborate closely with Global Pricing, Commercial, Finance, and IT leaders to translate business needs into scalable process solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on pricing process design and best practices.
  • Communicate complex pricing processes and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Build strong relationships while balancing competing priorities across functions and regions.

Capability Building & Standards

  • Contribute to enterprise standards for pricing processes, including templates, playbooks, and documentation.
  • Promote disciplined approaches to process mapping, governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and coach junior analysts, fostering capability development within the team.

Support the development of a pricing process community of practice across the enterprise

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in business process analysis, process improvement, or related roles, with strong exposure to commercial or pricing processes.
  • Proven experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies (certification preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional transformation initiatives with measurable business impact.

Skills & Competencies

  • Deep expertise in process modeling, mapping, mining, and optimization techniques, ideally within pricing or commercial domains.
  • Strong understanding of pricing strategies and commercial operations (e.g., discounting, deal management, margin optimization).
  • Experience applying Agile methodologies to process improvement and transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, and CPQ platforms.
  • Experience with process mining and BPM tools (e.g., Symbio, Celonis, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
