Lease Administrator

The lease administrator will be responsible for reviewing abstracts and interpreting commercial leases as well as updating the JD Edwards system for approximately 15properties or 150+ leases. They will track monthly financial obligations of lease documents and calculate annual tenant expense reconciliations for an assigned portfolio. This position is also responsible for ensuring data integrity of lease information maintained in the accounting system, communicating with Tenants, Property Managers and Asset management on leasing issues.

Essential Job Duties

  • Accurately and timely record all lease-related obligations, including base rent increases, percentage rent, operating expense (CAM), real estate tax and insurance obligations in compliance with lease language and GAAP.
  • Provide clarity on GAAP recording of lease details to asset management, investments, property management and legal departments
  • Assist tenants with understanding lease documents, account questions and disputes
  • Enter all new lease documents into accounting system and maintain lease documentation
  • Process tenant move-in and move-out forms
  • Generate and review tenant notices for accuracy and completeness
  • Review abstracted leases for accuracy

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in the real estate industry and/or accounting and property management fields

  • Ability to read and interpret complex legal documents to extract relevant information
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as work independently
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and a strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication, reading comprehension and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience using JD Edwards preferred
