General Summary:

Assume full responsibility, with the Director of Animation Production, for any production issues arising in connection with Warner's local animation production for Warner Bros. Japan

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with business units for business operations based on production plans
  • Sourcing materials of original works for anime adaptation
  • Determine which original works will be a hit in animation
  • Request and negotiate with publishers of original works for permission to animate
  • Approval coordination of animation for publishers, animation studios and related parties
  • Staffing of main staff such as directors, character designers, musicians, sound directors, voice actors, etc.
  • Supervision of scripts and storyboards
  • Attendance of master material production and production of deliverables
  • Supervision of team members
  • Formation and operation of the Animation Production Committee
  • Planning and selecting animation studios in accordance with the organization and business strategy
  • Manage the production schedule of animation studio
  • Execution of animation production in line with the organization and business strategy
  • Implementation of marketing activities including PR in line with the organization and business strategy
  • Budget management and budgetary responsibility for animation production
  • Proposal and green light work for planning of animation production
  • Planning and identifying animation studios in line with the organization and business strategy
  • Full understanding of the business and plan/implement annual operations independently

Experience required:

  • Good understanding of the production process in an animation studio for quality control
  • Experience in planning and implementing marketing plans
  • Minimum 3+ years related experience in animation production

Competencies we are looking for:

  • Good knowledge of animation productions
  • Understanding of market user needs
  • Ability to take responsibility for profit on each production
  • Ability to determine appropriate studio and main staff for animation production
