Detection Engineer

Job Summary

Creating and maintaining threat detections to identify malicious or anomalous behavior. In this role you will work cross functionally across various Incident Management platforms and teams, ensuring that effective response capabilities exist.

What you'll do:

  • Creating and maintaining detections and atomics in production and test environments
  • Review and test efficacy of our detection capabilities
  • Security gap analysis using a framework like MITRE ATT&CK or similar.
  • Adversary emulation using atomic red team or direct experience with red teaming/purple teaming.
  • Experience writing detections across multiple platforms - KQL and YARA-L a plus.
  • Process automation via scripting and/or SOAR (bonus for XSOAR, Python?)

What you'll bring:

  • KQL or other scripting knowledge
  • Critical thinking
  • Investigative skills
  • Ability to utilize frameworks and other industry standards.
  • Experience securing and monitoring enterprise Linux systems.
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Security
