What you'll do...
Leads analysis of key competitor, technology, and customer trends by collecting and summarizing data and implications; incorporating research findings into actionable recommendations; providing updates on relevant findings and insights to Product Management team; identifying industry best practices in product and project management; and ensuring up-to-date knowledge is communicated across the organization.
Consults on strategic and analytic projects for the Product Management team by helping develop and articulate Product Management position on long-term topics; determining the scope of projects; facilitating cross-functional and cross-regional working groups; leading analysis and problem solving efforts; ensuring communication among stakeholders; and managing projects.
Communicates strategic plans and growth opportunities to senior management and cross-functional teams by contributing to executive level presentations that succinctly and persuasively communicate strategic plans.
Provides analytic support to evaluate new and emerging product opportunities by building business models; conducting research; performing analysis; and making recommendations to department leadership regarding attractiveness, feasibility, and strategic fit of new product opportunities.
Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance accordingly; developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training; mentoring; assigning duties; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular performance evaluations; providing recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement; and ensuring diversity awareness.
Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by training and providing direction to others in their use and application; ensuring compliance with them; and utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
About the Job
The New Ventures & Growth team is responsible for technology M&A and partnerships area working closely with the engineering leadership, corporate strategy & development to define and execute a technology M&A strategy that accelerates Walmart's competitive advantage through cutting edge technology. The group is responsible for assessing the viability of technology targets and investment opportunities as well as create and govern a partner ecosystem to enable productivity, speed and innovation at scale. We are looking to add a hands-on Senior Manager to our team.
- Undergraduate degree with minimum of 7 years of experience in a large organization, with deep technology background (engineering, product or strategy)
- Ability to articulate vision of transformation efforts and a sense of mission
- Ability to get to the heart of the problem and make sound and timely decisions
- Ability to break down complex problems and projects into manageable goals
- Highly developed skills in priority setting and alignment of project priorities with strategy
- Results orientation, willingness to commit to a direction and drive projects to completion
- Collaborative team player orientation towards work relationships, strong culture awareness
