About the Job:

We are looking for a Senior SEO Manager to join our team who will be responsible for ensuring continued health and growth of our organic search rankings. Work alongside the Senior Director of Digital Marketing to identify areas for on-site improvements in site structure, internal linking, and content to increase the visibility of Samsclub.com.

Responsibilities:

  • Help build the vision, goals and roadmap themes across the SEO portfolio, executing against those initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Build and prioritize an annual SEO roadmap based on impact, level of effort, and risk to help acquire new traffic through organic search.
  • Actively measure editorial SEO performance and communicate performance to leadership vs defined goals.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify opportunities, quantifying their merits, and working with product and engineering teams to implement them successfully.
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, IT, and Design to evaluate the technical SEO impacts of proposed initiatives.
  • Develop standards for site markup, meta tagging and schema structures for SEO.
  • Conduct deep and regular dives into indexation, crawling and rendering to identify actionable improvements.
  • Provide engineering ready requirements for page speed / site performance, mobile first indexing, single page application rendering, and more.
  • Translate algorithmic changes and emerging search trends into optimization strategies.
  • Design and propose SEO experiments to test new techniques and strategies for growth.
  • Influence content strategies and experimentation, providing keyword and best practice guardrails for copywriters and other stakeholders in order to maximize mid funnel strategies.
  • Optimize on-page content to match searcher intent and improve rankings, working with the Site Experience Managers to influence and optimize category and product page SEO strategies and execution.
  • Investigate and report shifts in traffic and ranks, providing go-forward recommendations.
  • Conduct competitive research and uncover hidden opportunities. Perform in-depth keyword research and analysis to identify high-potential opportunities.

  • High ownership: autonomous and takes pride in your work, has a sense of urgency, and perseveres through difficulty to deliver high-quality results.
  • Excellent communicator: ability to clearly communicate and evangelize SEO across all levels, particularly through data.
  • You have a bachelor's degree, a master's degree is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated track record of success driving results & business growth.
  • 4+ years of SEO experience with enterprise-level websites (i.e. hundreds of thousands or millions of URLs).
  • Experience producing technical SEO deliverables and interfacing with DevEng teams.
  • Experience working with Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics and Google Tag Manager (GTM) or similar.
  • Familiarity with third-party keyword research tools like Ahrefs, GetSTAT, Moz, Deepcrawl, and SEMRush.
  • Strong understanding of Content Management Platforms (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager, Wix, Magento etc.
  • Comfortable with large and complex data sets (examples include log files, crawl data, and database records).
