Position Summary...

What you'll do...

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of advocacy and engagement strategies in Walmart's priority global retail and sourcing markets by Identifying key stakeholders, with a focus on the South Asia Region (for example government officials, NGO's, multilateral organizations, other thought leaders); supporting the engagement of Walmart's Government Affairs team with Walmart's international market government officials and key stakeholders; acts as a subject matter expert in corporate affairs and policies; staying up to date on constantly fluctuating environmental factors; developing and managing advocacy plans to support company positions on public policy issues; and supports the implementation of Government Affairs plans for potential new-market entry.
  • Identifying and analyzing geopolitical trends in international markets to educate the business on relevant trends, and influence internal and external policies, legislation, and regulations by analyzing market political and socio-economic factors in current and potential market countries; and reporting (for example formally written briefs, oral presentations).
  • Supports Walmart's reputation and business growth in international retail and sourcing markets by influencing the legislation and regulatory environments in Walmart's international markets; conducting meetings with key stakeholders; aligning international government affairs strategies to support Walmart's business strategies and international reputation; leading proactive strategies to enhance the recognition of the value of Walmart International to the overall company; planning and engaging in market visits and events; engaging Walmart's leadership team with key international market stakeholders; and ensuring the preservation of Walmart's positive international reputation.
  • Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
  • Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy. Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.
