Staff Engineer - Telco Cloud

Job Description
VMware is looking for a Staff Engineer in the Telco Cloud R&D to enhance its next phase of building core components in the Telco Cloud and Edge portfolio.
You will drive the team to translate this vision into a scalable, carrier grade, NFV, Telco Cloud and edge computing solution to address the needs of the Telco customers and partners.
You will mentor the engineers and drive towards building high quality, architecturally sound solutions that are aligned with our business needs.
Responsibilities:
Own the end-to-end responsibility for delivering a key part of the VMware Telco Coud portfolio
Build an architecture and contribute to development for the VMware automation and orchestration platform
Strong coding and design skills
Develop project plans and execute against them in an agile environment
Direct the day-to-day processes and activities, translate and clarify high-level requirements to user stories and tasks, remove roadblocks for the team
Mentor a world-class engineering team, helping each individual achieve their career goals
Plan for long term growth and help recruit excellent engineering talent
Work with senior management as well as other teams and functions in developing a long term plan for our NFV solutions
Work with engineers and architects to define and develop the right architecture and user experience for our SaaS Services
Requirements:
8+ years in an engineering role in software development
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience in building scalable, distributed systems
Comfortable in dealing with change and uncertainty during the software development lifecycle
Ability to work with and lead strong engineers
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a geographically dispersed team
Knowledge of Telco/NFV market is a big plus
Bachelors in Computer Science; Masters preferred
* Familiar with Kubernetes is a plus
