In Cloud Management Business Unit (CMBU) at VMware, we are in the business of helping customers manage, operate and optimize their investment in hybrid cloud authoritatively through our SaaS and On-Premise solutions. The cross cloud architecture of our micro services provides the ability to lead, govern, and secure their applications running in private cloud as well as public clouds, such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure (as seen here: https://cloud.vmware.com/)



Job Role & Responsibility:



You will be a part of very talented team of peers in the vRealize Automation product family. As part of your role you will,



Leverage your domain expertise to provide feedback on the product's quality and usability

Demonstrate your technical design, engineering and validation skills to improve our product to tackle real customer challenges

Work within a talented, geographically-distributed team to drive customer vision, use case and outcomes

Drive replicating customer implementations in house to validate

Work with PM organization in associating requirements with customer use cases and provide customer feedback to Product Management

Design the datacenter by considering all relevant aspects known from customers' labs

Assume the role of trusted SME for networking, cloud and virtualization related platforms

"Go-to" SME for any urgent client issues / troubleshooting.

Act as a mentor to junior engineers

Ensure functionality is not impeded by scale



Required Skills:



Background with Computer Science fundamentals (based on a BS or MS in CS or related field)

Strong coding experience in OOP language like Java and/or scripting language like Python

Extensive expertise with Planning, Design and Implementation of Datacenter, Campus, LAN and WAN Networks.

Hands-on experience with Vmware's products related to SDDC (vSphere, vSAN, NSX)

Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS)

Troubleshooting experience with complex problems like Application slowness

At least 3 years of experience in infrastructure architecture and design of complex distributed systems environments

Excellent customer facing skills to troubleshoot issues and/or help develop better in-house labs

Experience working with global teams highly desirable

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail

Organized and passionate about details; able to effectively perform multiple/concurrent tasks within deadlines in a dynamic environment

Initiative to improve products, tools, and process





Preferred Skills:



Our team looks for individuals who embody the values of humility, empathy, respectfulness, trustworthiness, good-natured fun and collaboration above isolationism,. Additionally, we consider these a plus

Hands on experience with Selenium web driver, Protractor

Strong Security, Data Center, Micro segmentation skills

Experience in working with Azure and Google cloud

Familiarity with modern converged infrastructure and hyper converged infrastructure platforms

Experience in bottleneck analysis, application profiling, code optimization, capacity planning and system failure predictive analysis at scale
